Mouse Phenotyping
InfrafrontierGR offers a series of state-of-the-art mouse phenotyping services for the analysis of genotype-to-phenotype relationships, where proprietary disease models act as filters for “disease-oriented” characterization of mutations (secondary to tertiary phenotyping). These efforts aim at maximizing novel target identification and validation within the drug discovery pipeline, thus enhancing research and innovation potential. So far efforts focus on modeling chronic inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel diseases, pulmonary fibrosis, modeled infections, as well as oncogene or inflammation-driven cancers, areas in which network members demonstrate research excellence and specialization. However additional phenotyping pipelines will be added shortly, covering areas of interest to regional researchers, including neurological/cognitive, cardiovascular and metabolic phenotyping pipelines.
Histopathology
The Unit offers a full array histopathology services including fixation, paraffin coating/embedding, microtome cutting, bone processing, cryostat sectioning, as well as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization services.
Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting
The Facility offers multicolour cell population immunophenotyping, multiplex Cytometric Bead Array (CBA) analysis of soluble proteins, functional assays, as well as isolation of cellular subsets for high-throughput experiments and in vitro assays.
Clinical Chemistry and Hematology

BSRC offers tools for analysis of clinical-chemical and hematological parameters. It is equipped with Mindray BC5000Vet,
a 5Diff Ηematology analyzer capable of mouse blood analysis and the Beckman Coulter AU480 Biochemical analyzer.

Functional Imaging - Advanced Microscopy
The Imaging Unit provides expertise and state-of-the-art equipment for modern multidimensional biomedical imaging applications using modern microscopy methods, digital image processing and computational image analysis. Services include confocal imaging, wide-field microscopy, FRAP, FRET, FLIM, live dynamic imaging, and others.
Endoscopy
High-resolution mini-endoscopy imaging services and support are offered for studies involving mouse models of intestinal inflammation and cancer.
Ultrasound Imaging
A software-controlled system that acquires and displays high-resolution, real-time ultrasound images, intended for diagnostic imaging and fluid flow analysis on small animals in the laboratory environment.
In vivo optical / X-ray Imaging
A system with quantitative high sensitivity imaging of luminescent, radioisotopic, and multi-wavelength fluorescent labeled biomolecules in combination with radiographic and reflectance imaging, provides powerful and versatile in vivo imaging for small animals.
POSTER

Small animal PET/CT
The PET/CT facility provides advanced non-invasive whole body imaging for a broad range of pathological entities.
micro-CT
Advanced micro-CT imaging services and support are available for research involving ex vivo analysis of selected tissues derived from small animals (mineralized biomaterials, grafts, implants, composites etc).
Metabolic Cage Housing
Α system that provides a perfect separation of feces and urine of mice with minimal animal stress while performing reliable experiments.
Behavioral Phenotyping
The Unit provides a number of behavioral phenotyping services to assess exploratory behavior, locomotor activity, motor and neuromuscular function, anxiety, pain sensitivity, learning and memory.

Irradiation
Irradiation services and support are provided, ideal for the irradiation of small animals for myeloablation/chimera creation.
Proteomics
The Protein Chemistry facility provides a core facility for the analysis and characterization of proteins and their interactions with other biomolecules. The Facility is equipped with a Thermo Scientific LTQ Orbitrap XL hybrid FTMS providing an outstanding tool for quantitative proteomic analysis.
