Live-cell imaging services are provided, at the BSRC Al. Fleming, through state-of-the-art technologies and scientific support for 4D image acquisition and real-time detection of cell dynamics on culture plates, 3D matrices and organotypic slices.
A Zeiss AXIO Observer Z1 inverted microscope, is configured with fluorescent and transmitted light, an Axiocam MRm, filter cubes for DAPI, GFP, CFP, YFP, Cy3/Rhodamine Red and Cy5/Far Red and a motorized stage. The condenser and the optics are set up for dark-field and DIC imaging. The microscope is outfitted with a micro cell incubator that facilitates control of temperature, humidity, and CO2 allowing thus maintenance and imaging of live cells over long periods of time. The system can also be used to image fixed cells/tissues.
The services provided include:
-
Combined fluorescence and transmitted light imagingï‚·
-
Wide spectrum of fluorophore detection including DAPI, CFP, GFP, YFP, Cy3 and Cy5ï‚·
-
Imaging of live cells over long periods of timeï‚·
-
Automatic tiled or multiple area time lapse multi-channel image acquisitionï‚·
-
Conventional fluorescence microscopyï‚·
-
Image processing and analysis of cell dynamics using Zen and ImageJï‚·
-
The optics of the system include 5x, 10x, 25x, 40x and 63x DIC objectives
